Commission publishes six new local visit reports - 18 October 2017

18 October 2017

The Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland today published six new reports on its visits to NHS hospital wards and units and the State Hospital.

The reports highlight positive and negative findings from the Commission's visits. They make recommendations for change where necessary. The Commission expects a response to each of its recommendations within three months of the reports being published.

The reports are for:

The State Hospital, Carstairs

Coathill Hospital, Glencairn Rehabilitation Unit, Coatbridge

Rowanbank Clinic, Glasgow

Stobhill Hospital, Struan Ward, Glasgow

New Craigs Hospital, Affric (IPCU) and Bruar wards, Inverness

Udston Hospital, Brandon and Clyde wards, Hamilton

A Mental Welfare Commission spokesperson said: "We undertake over 100 local visits like these every year. By publishing our reports we hope to help share good practice where we find it, and call for change where services are lacking."
