The Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland
today published five new reports on its visits to NHS
hospital wards and units.
The reports highlight positive and negative findings from the
Commission's visits, one of which was unannounced. They
make recommendations for change where necessary. The Commission
expects a response to each of its recommendations within three
months of the reports being published.
The reports are for:
Marchburn Ward, East Ayrshire Community Hospital, Cumnock
Ward, Ferryfield House, Edinburgh (announced)
4 and 5, Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert (announced)
3B, Leverndale Hospital, Glasgow (unannounced)
Young People's Unit, Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Edinburgh
A Mental Welfare Commission spokesperson said: "We undertake
over 100 local visits like these every year. By publishing our
reports we hope to help share good practice where we find it, and
call for change where services are lacking."
