Rights in Mind

This pathway is designed to help staff in mental health services ensure that patients have their human rights respected at key points in their treatment.

Rights in Mind booklet

Our Rights in Mind booklet features an illustrated pathway of a patient's journey through inpatient care, and provides a list of human and legal rights at each key stage in their care and treatment.

This booklet is designed for staff, but may also be of use to patients and friends and family.

Good Practice Guide

Our good practice guide explains how and where human rights impact on mental health care delivery, and how staff can best ensure that the key rights are respected and promoted. It is intended to be both a reference guide and an improvement resource.

Watch our films

We have produced a series of five short films showing interviews with ex-patients, nurses on pilot wards across Scotland, and the Commission.

People's stories

In addition to our films, we also have a number of written transcripts of our interviews with ex-patients, carers and professionals.

LearnPro Courses for NHS Staff

There are LearnPro courses on Rights In Mind available for NHS staff who have been given access.
