Freedom of information — Providing information about our work
The Freedom of Information Act says that you have the right to know how organisations, like ours, that are funded from the public purse make decisions and manage their resources. In 2007-08 we considered 15 Freedom of Information requests. The majority of enquiries we received related to the following;
- Budgets, resources and expenditure of the Commission
- Reports on Commission visits to services
- Reports of investigations and enquiries carried out into accidents/incidents and suicides
The following links take you to details and downloads of the information we can provide:
- Who we are
- What we do
- How we are funded and how we use our funds
- How we make decisions
- Our performance targets and whether we've met them
- How we relate to service users and carers
- How we relate to other agencies
- How we recruit and develop our staff
We will respond to all requests about the information which we hold. We will do what we can to make information available. It might not be possible for us to provide the information you ask for. For example, we will not usually release confidential patient records to anyone other than the patient. Sometimes we will have to consider whether information is exempt from publication before releasing it.
View our publication scheme, which explains how we provide information. Much of it is available on this website. If the information you would like is not on the site please submit an e-mail enquiry.
