The Commission is an independent body responsible to the
Scottish Parliament. It is funded through a grant in aid from the
Scottish Government Health Department - Mental Health
Division. We produce annual accounts in line with the
National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, contract an internal
audit function and are audited through Audit Scotland.
